Rich Wagner comes to UIW as an assistant coach, following a decade-and-a-half run of success as a head coach at Northwest Nazarene (Idaho), an NCAA Division-II program.
In 15 years at NNU, Wagner won more than 300 games at a program that had previously never had a winning season. In that time, he won five Great Northwest Conference regular season championships, three conference tournaments and coached his team at five NCAA Tournaments. For his efforts, he was named conference Coach of the Year four times.
During his tenure, Wagner coached seven All-Americans, 31 All-Region players, two Regional Players of the Year, 62 all-conference players, two conference Players of the Year and five conference Pitchers of the Year.
