Karlie Milburn will bring a wealth of experience to UIW, as she'll begin her first season as an assistant coach with the Cardinal softball program in 2027.
Milburn comes over from East Central University (Okla.), where she worked primarily with the pitching staff. Prior to that, she was at Southern Arkansas, where she oversaw a rotation that recorded a 1.60 ERA while helping the Mauleriders win both the regular season and conference tournament titles in the Great American Conference. Her coaching helped Brinson Rogers win multiple major awards, including being named NFCA Division-II Pitcher of the Year.
She's also had stints at Kenyon College (Ohio) and with the Lone Star State Collegiate Softball League. At the later stop, she led her team to a league championship and won Coach of the Year honors in 2024. This came after beginning her career as a graduate assistant at the University of Michigan.
Milburn's playing career began at East Central before she eventually made the jump to the NCAA Divison-I ranks at Tarleton State.
