University of the Incarnate Word Athletics

Elyssa Barrientos is the Student-Athlete Development Coordinator at the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW), where she earned her bachelor’s degree in 2021 and master’s degree in 2024. A former UIW cheerleader and dedicated student-athlete from 2017-2021, Elyssa now applies her experience to support the growth and success of UIW’s current athletes. In her role, she focuses on fostering academic success, , career readiness and personal development, ensuring that every athlete is equipped with the skills they need for their sports careers and life beyond athletics.
