Dr. Laura Cannon

Dr. Laura Cannon, Associate Professor of History, joined the UIW faculty in 2017 and was appointed the Faculty Athletic Representative in 2023. As a former Cardinal, Dr. Cannon earned her Bachelor of Arts in History from UIW while playing for the women’s soccer team from 2004-2007. She went on to earn her Master of Arts from Indiana State University in 2010 and her Ph.D. from Texas Tech University in 2016. She researches the U.S.-Mexico Borderlands, labor history, and race, citizenship, and civil rights.
