University of the Incarnate Word Athletics

Dr. Jerry Salazar completed his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi in 2014. After the completion of his undergraduate degree, he pursued a graduate assistant athletic training position back in his hometown of San Antonio at the University of the Incarnate Word.

After graduating with his Master of Science in Kinesiology from UIW in 2016, he continued to serve as a full-time athletic trainer for several years providing care to the university’s student-athlete population. In 2021, he was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director of Sports Medicine while simultaneously completing his doctoral degree at A.T. Still University.

Graduating in 2023 with his Doctor of Athletic Training degree, he continues to commit himself to other endeavors such as mentorship, volunteering, staff development, and quality improvement initiatives. Outside of academics and the workplace, he spends time with his family, and pets and devotes many hours to gaming, fitness, and documentaries.
