Mabry joined the University of the Incarnate Word football staff in June 2024 as Assistant Defensive Line Coach and Quality Control Coordinator. In his first season with the Cardinals, he helped guide the defense to a No. 1 ranking in the Southland Conference. UIW finished undefeated in conference play and claimed the Southland Conference Championship. The Cardinals ranked third nationally in total sacks and ninth in the nation in tackles for loss.
Following the 2024 season, Mabry spent the 2025 football season coaching at the high school level before returning to UIW in the spring of 2025 as the Defensive Line Coach.
Mabry began his coaching career at his alma mater MacArthur High School, in San Antonio.  Was the Head Football Coach for St.Anthony High School in 2021. In 2022, he was named Defensive Coordinator at Sam Houston High School, overseeing all defensive operations and player development. His success at the high school level helped pave the way for his transition to the collegiate ranks at UIW.
Prior to coaching, Mabry was a standout defensive lineman at the University of Texas at San Antonio, where he played a key role in building the program from its inception. He served as the team captain and earned numerous honors including Preseason Second Team All-Conference, Midseason First Team All-Conference, two-time Dave Campbell’s Texas Football UTSA Defensive MVP, and UTSA Team MVP.
After graduating from UTSA with a degree in Multidisciplinary Studies, Mabry played defensive line in the National Football League (NFL) from 2015–19.
A native of San Antonio, Texas, Mabry brings extensive playing and coaching experience back to his home state, combining NFL, collegiate, and high school leadership in his approach to player development.
