Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll

2017 (Junior): Mays proved to be a strong competitor and stepped in as a key 400 meter sprinter on the women's team. She recorded a personal best in the indoor 400 as she crossed the line in 58.29 seconds. During the outdoor season, she ran a season's best time  of 55.66 in the 400m and finished fourth at the J Fred Duckett Twilight meet. Mays showed significant improvement in the 200 meter dash and reported a best time of 24.87 at the Southland conference championships. The 400 meter specialist qualified for finals and bettered her preliminary time to a 55.57 for a sixth place finish. Mays ran a solid lead off leg on the 4x400 relay to contribute to a fourth place finish amongst Southland competitors. 

2016 (Freshman): As a first year Cardinal, Mays competed in the 400 and 200 meters and was first leg on the 4x400 meter relay. She opened up her campaign at the J.D. Martin Invitational where she finished sixth in the 400. She helped the team break the school record in the 4x400 relay and finish fifth at the Southland conference indoor championship. Mays improved week after week in the 400. She recorded her best time of the season (55.84) at the J Fred Duckett-Rice Twilight meet to finish third and put her name in the record book. She led the team to a fifth place finish at the oudoor conference championships with a time of 3:45.05.

High School:  Mays was on the volleyball and track teams at Temple High School.  She earned honorable mention all-district honors in volleyball.  She was the team's most outstanding sprinter in track and was the district champion in the 400 meters.

Personal:  Mays is the daughter of Jacques Mays and Patricia Aldridge-Lester and is studying community health education.  She has two siblings, Temik and Kristin.  She was born on September 5, 1996.  She has volunteered with the Light the Night Cancer Walk, Insane Inflatable 5K and the Ronald McDonald House.
