Biography

2014 (Junior):  Nelson was named to the Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll and earned second team all-SLC honors in the 4x100-meter relay.  She posted a time of 7.95 in the 60 meters during the indoor season.  She ran a season best time of 12.19 in the 100 meters at the Southland Championships.  She picked up a pair of runner-up ribbons in the long jump at Trinity and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.  At AMCC, she leaped a season best 18-6.  She ran the third leg on the sprint relay team that set the school record at the conference meet with a time of 45.73.  They had three runner-up finishes and they won the Islander Open with a time of 46.42.

2013 (Sophomore):  Nelson had a strong outdoor season for the Cardinals earning all-Lone Star Conference honors after taking sixth in the 100 meters and running the third leg on the winning 4x100-meter relay team.  She is the fourth fastest 100 and 200-meter runner in school history with top times of 12.04 and 25.14, respectively.  She also competed in the long jump and went 18-0.5 at the LSC Championships.  She competed at the NCAA Division II Outdoor championships for a second straight year in the 4x100 relay.  She earned USTFCCCA All-Region honors in the 4x100 relay.

2012 (Freshman):  Nelson competed in the short sprints, long jump and triple jump for the Cardinals.  She was sixth in the long jump and seventh in the 55-meter dash at the LSC Indoor Invitational.  She ran the third leg on the school record 4x100-meter relay team.  She was fifth in the long jump at the LSC Outdoor Championships and third in the 4x100 relay.  The 4x100 relay team won the UIW Invitational and Trinity Alumni Classic during the year.

High School:  Nelson was on the track and basketball teams at Judson High School.  She was a two-time TGCA All-State honoree.  She was a four-time Regional qualifier and was part of three Regional and District championship teams.  She earned the District's High Point award as a senior.

Personal:  Nelson is the daughter of Rohan and Neada Nelson and is studying criminal justice.  She has a sister, Collicia.  She was born on July 11, 1993 in Bridgeport, CT.
