Biography
2014 (Senior): Swift only competed during the indoor season and red-shirted outdoors giving her one more year of eligibility. In her only 60-meter dash of the year, she broke the previous school record with a time of 7.71. She is one of only three runners in school history to break 25 seconds in the 200 meters when she ran a converted 24.99 at Texas Tech. She nabbed eighth place at the Southland Conference indoor meet in the 400 meters with a time of 56.56. She ran the anchor leg on the sixth place 4x400 relay team that ran a time of 3:52.51. She owns nine of the fastest 10 indoor 400-meter times in school history. She was named to the Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll. She earned SLC All-Academic first team honors.
2013 (Junior): Swift earned numerous awards after a strong indoor and outdoor campaign. She was second in the Lone Star Conference in the indoor 400 meters with a school record time of 56.08 and was fifth in the 200 meters. She ran the anchor leg for both the 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams. They won the LSC 4x100 title with a time of 46.18 and they set the school record in the 4x400 with a time of 3:51.38 at the McNeese Invitational. She qualified for the NCAA Division II championships in the 400 meters and had a top time of 54.86 for the season. She ran personal best times of 12.12 in the 100 meters and 24.68 in the 200 meters during the year. She was All-LSC and USTFCCCA All-Region three times (indoor 200, outdoor 400, outdoor 4x100 relay). She was named to the LSC All-Academic Team during the indoor and outdoor seasons and was on the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team. She was on the LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll and nabbed the D2ADA Academic Achievement Award.
2012 (Sophomore): Swift earned LSC All-Academic Team and All-LSC honors. She was a member of the LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll and the USTFCCCA Division II All-Academic Team. She took third place in the 200 meters and fourth in the 400 meters as the LSC Indoor Invitational. She opened the outdoor season by winning the 200 meters, 4x100 relay and 4x400 relay at the UIW Invitational. At the Trinity Alumni Classic she was on the winning 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams while taking second in the 400 and third in the 200. She placed in three individual events and two relays at the LSC Championships. She set the school record in the 400 meters at the UIW Last Stand meet with a time of 54.75 and took 11th at the NCAA Division II Championships.
2011 (Freshman): Swift opened her career by taking fourth in the 200 meters at the McNeese Indoor Invitational. She was a mainstay on the 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams earning a number of top three performances in both. Each team won the LSC Championship. She added a third place finish in the 200 meters, fifth place in the 400 meters and eighth place in the 100 meters at the conference meet. She earned All-Lone Star Conference honors. She was part of a 4x100 relay team that finished 10th at the NCAA Division II National Championships.
High School: Swift was on the track and cross country teams at Clark High School. She was the district and regional champion in the 400 meters. She took eight place in the State 5A meet in the 400 meters. She was a member of the National Honor Society and graduated magna cum laude.
Personal: Swift is the daughter of Richard and Karen Swift and is studying accounting. She has a sister, Shantel who is on the UTSA track team. She was born on November 13, 1991 in Corozal, Belize.
