Biography
2014 (Freshman): Rivera was a long distance specialist for the Cardinals. She ran a time of 11:04.19 in the 3000 meters indoors that converted to a 10:56.28 due to the altitude at Texas Tech. She finished in eighth place in the Southland Conference in the 10,000 meters with a time of 38:11.25, the second fastest time in school history. She had a top time of 18:31.06 in the 5000 meters at the UIW Invitational. She was named to the Southland Commissioner's Honor Roll.
High School: Rivera was on the Brownsville Rivera High School track and cross country teams. She was a two-time district champion in cross country and was named the All-Metro Most Valuable Player twice. She earned first team All-Metro and all-district and All-Rio Grande Valley and was second team all-region. In track she was a two-time 3200-meter district champion and was a four-time regional qualifier. She led the cross country team to three District 32-5A championships and one track district team title. She was a member of the National Honor Society and was All-State Women's Choir.
Personal: Rivera is the daughter of Ramiro and Lupita Rivera and is studying music education. She has a sister, Samantha. She was born on June 14, 1995.
