Logan Burgess Hayes enters his first season at UIW as a Graduate Assistant Coach. Before arriving to UIW, Hayes was the Volunteer Assistant Coach at Kansas State, where he helped the Wildcats to a no. 38 national ranking and a top 25 recruiting class. Prior to Kansas State, Hayes attended the University of Illinois-Springfield, where he was a four-year letter winner for the men's tennis program.
For his career at UIS, Hayes tallied identical records in both singles and doubles play, compiling 45-36 records in both genres.
Primarily playing out of the No. 2 spot for his senior season, Hayes posted an 11-12 record in singles competition while tacking on a 14-9 mark in doubles play.
During his senior campaign at UIS, Hayes was one of two seniors that would guide the Prairie Stars to their best season in program history with a 13-5 campaign while helping the team garner national (No. 36) and regional (No. 8) rankings for the first time during the NCAA era.
Referring to his first three years at UIS, Hayes accumulated a combined 20-15 record in singles play for his sophomore and junior seasons. In his freshman campaign, Hayes recorded 14 wins in singles competition while earning six of those victories from the No. 2 spot for the Prairie Stars. Â
Hayes continues to work with former UIS Head Coach & Kansas State Assistant Coach Tom Rees, who was hired at UIW as Head Coach on July 1. Rees recruited & coached Hayes during his first two seasons at UIS from 2014-16.
A native of Brighton, England, Hayes achieved a No. 1744 ITF ranking while competing in Europe in 2014 before arriving to UIS. During his time on the ITF Tour, Hayes picked up victories at the Brighton Winter Open, Woodford Wells Open and Devonshire Park Open, which accumulated to a 2.1 rating in the British National System.
