University of the Incarnate Word Athletics

2014-15 (Junior):  Peterson swam the freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and the individual medley for the Cardinals. She won the 1000 freestyle against Trinity with a time of 10:34.57, which is also a top-10 time in school history.  Her time in the 200 butterfly at the CCSA Championships also put her in the top 10, 2:09.09.  She posted her best 500 freestyle time at the CCSA Championships with a time of 5:07.50.  She was named to the CCSA All-Academic Team for the second year in a row.

2013-14 (Sophomore):  Peterson was a workhorse for the Cardinals swimming the freestyle distance events in addition to the individual medley, backstroke and butterfly races.  She finished second in the 500 and 1000-yard freestyle races against Southwestern.  She moved into the top 10 in school history in the 500 and 100 free events along with the 200 backstroke.  She was named to the CCSA All-Academic Team.

2012-13 (Freshman):  Peterson swam the butterfly and individual medley events throughout the season.  She finished third in the 100 butterfly at the Texas A&M and UC-San Diego meets and also took third place in the 400 individual medley at the UIW January Meet.  She made the finals in three individual events at the RMAC Championships.  She posted top 10 times in school history in all four of her individual events.

High School:  Peterson swam for a Xavier College Prep squad that won four consecutive State Championships and has won 26 consecutive titles.  She earned All-State honors and was a member of the National Honor Society.

Personal:  Peterson is the daughter of Paul and Kathy Peterson and is studying nutrition and dietetics.  She has a sister, Alicia and a brother, Matthew.  She was born on June 23, 1993.
