2014-15: Whalen red-shirted with an injury.

2013-14 (Junior):  Whalen had a promising season cut short due to injury.  She was second at the UIW Christmas Invitational in the 1650-yard freestyle and third in the 400-yard individual medley.  Prior to her injury, she set a new personal record in the 200 IM with a time of 2:09.92 at the UIW Christmas Invitational.

2012-13 (Sophomore):  Whalen built upon her excellent freshman year with a strong second campaign.  She earned CSCAA Honorable Mention All-America honors in the 1000 freestyle, 1650 freestyle and 200 butterfly.  Her best meet of the year came at the UIW January Meet where she finished second in the 200 butterfly, first in the 400 individual medley and second in the 1650 freestyle.  At the Drury Invitational, she finished second in the 200 butterfly and third in both the 400 individual medley and 500 freestyle.  She swam the fifth best times in school history in the 500, 1000 and 1650 freestyle.  She set the school record in the 200 butterfly at the UIW Christmas Invite in a time of 2:02.84.

2011-12 (Freshman):  Whalen was named the RMAC Freshman of the Year.  She won the 200-yard butterfly and set an RMAC meet record with a time of 2:05.62.  She also won the 400-yard individual medley.  She won the 200 butterfly at two other meets.  She nabbed a second place finish in the 1000-yard freestyle at the Ouachita Baptist Invitational and a third place finish in the 1,650-yard freestyle at the UIW Invitational.  She swam in the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials in the 200-yard butterfly becoming the first Cardinal to ever swim at the U.S. Olympic Trials.

High School:  Whalen was ranked second in the nation in the 200-yard butterfly and 16th in the 1,650-yard freestyle in her age group.  She also played soccer at Apopka High School.

Personal:  Whalen is the daughter of Kirk and Sue Whalen and is studying business administration with a minor in management.  She has three younger brothers, Noah, Drew and Sam.  She was born on June 23, 1993.
