2013 (Junior): Jewell had three top twenty finishes in her junior year. She ran a time of 24:12.27 at the UIW Cardinal Invitational 6K that earned her 17th place and a time of 15:15.37 at the Alamo City Opener 4K, which earned her 10th place

2012 (Sophomore): Jewell ran in six meets for the Cardinals and had her season best time of 23.40.4 for a 6K race at the UIW Invitational. She finished in 32nd place at the Lone Star Conference Championships after running a time of 24:08.

2011 (Freshman): Jewell was a consistent top performer for the Cardinals. She was 15th at the Texas Tech 5K in a time of 20:15.94. She broke 20 minutes at the Oklahoma State Cowboy Jamboree 5K with a time of 19:14.50. She blazed her way to a 14th place finish at the Lone Star Conference 6K with a time of 23:20 to earn all-conference honors. She was 59th at the NCAA Division II Regionals with a time of 23:39.00 for the 6K race.

High School: Jewell was a two-time regional qualifier in cross country at Taft High School. She finished in second place in the district in the two-mile. She also competed in basketball and volleyball.

Personal: Jewell is the daughter of Brent and Vera Deckard and is undecided on her field of study. She has four siblings; Tanja, Sascha, Ethan and Tommi. She was born on March 17, 1993.
