Biography

2012 (Junior):  Acuna was named to the Lone Star Conference All-Tournament Team after hitting .444 for the Cardinals en route to winning the LSC Tournament Title.  She started 54 games and hit .321 with a .503 slugging percentage and eight home runs.  She went 3-for-4 with a home run and two runs scored against Texas A&M-International on Feb. 2.  She drove in three runs in four different games throughout the season, including a 2-for-4 perfromance against St. Mary's that included a home run and two runs scored on Feb. 12.  She was 5-for-12 with six RBI's in four games against Texas A&M-Kingsville.

2011 (Sophomore):  Acuna earned First Team All-Lone Star Conference South Division honors at third base while helping lead the Cardinals to a share of the regular season conference title.  She started 54 games and posted a .313 batting average and a .506 slugging percentage.  She had a total of 13 multi-hit games and had at least two RBI's in eight different games.  She hit the team's only grand slam of the season and drove in a season high five runs in a win at Abilene Christian on Mar. 25.  She had a four-hit game against Emporia State on Feb. 17 and drove in four runs in a game against St. Mary's on Feb. 25.  She thumped two home runs and drove in four against Northeastern State on Apr. 2.  She drove in three runs in a game on three occasions.  She closed the season on a seven game hitting streak and had five doubles during that stretch.  She had seven home runs and drove in 37 runs during the year.

2010 (Freshman):  Acuna started 49 games for the Cardinals and posted a .289 batting average and a .472 slugging percentage.  She was 3-for-3 with three RBI's and a triple against Southern Arkansas on Feb. 27.  She slugged her first career home run on Mar. 13 at home against Panhandle State.  She set a school record when she went 5-for-5 in a game at Texas A&M-International on Apr. 18.  She had 12 doubles and four home runs during the season.  She finished the year with 27 runs scored and 19 driven in.

High School:  Acuna played basketball and softball at Holmes High School.  She was a four-time first team all-district selection.  She set the school records for most doubles, putouts and walks.  She led the team to the third round of the playoffs.  In basketball, she was the team's defensive player of the year and helped the team to the Regional Quarterfinals.  She was the English Honor Society President.

Personal:  Acuna is the daughter of Luciano and Alice Acuna and is studying biology.  She has two sisters, Stephanie and Veronica.  She was born on March 27, 1990.
