2017: Redshirting season

High School: Gonzales was a three-year letterwinner and two-year starter in softball at Southwest High School for head coach Sandra Hernandez. She was a two-time Honorable Mention All-District recipient. In 2015, she was the team leader in batting average (.394), as the team went 24-12. In her freshman year, the team went 31-7, eventually becoming district champions. The team repeated in 2014 and was also area champions and a regional finalist. In 2015, the team was a state qualifier and area champions. Gonzalez had 99 RBI, 19 doubles, and 18 home runs in her career.

Personal: Gonzales is the daughter of Joann and Joe John and is majoring in sport management at UIW. She has one brother, Joe John, and one sister, Meadow. She was born on August 23, 1998.
