Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll

2015 (Junior):  Hood was the team's starting shortstop for the first half of the season, but an injury kept her out of all but one game after April 3.  She was 3-for-4 with a double against Sam Houston State and then cracked a double later in the day against Buffalo.  She had an outstanding doubleheader against Lamar.  In the first game she went 2-for-3 with a double and then she was 1-for-2 with a triple in the second game.  She scored a run and drove in a run in each contest.  Despite only playing 32 games, she still finished second on the team with nine sacrifice hits and 78 assists.  She was an NFCA Scholar Athlete and a member of the Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll.

2014 (Sophomore):  Hood started the most games on the team with 50 at shortstop and second base.  She started the first 16 games of the season at shortstop and struggled a little in the field, but found her niche at second base.  She had a total of 125 defensive chances at second base and only committed four errors.  She only received 57 at bats, but still had three multi-hit games.  She scored twice in a win over Central Arkansas and cracked a triple against UH-Victoria.  She was named to the Southland Commissioner's Honor Roll and was an NFCA Scholar Athlete.

2013 (Freshman):  Hood appeared in 21 games and made 10 starts at shortstop.  She got her first career hit against St. Edward's on March 6.  She was named to the Lone Star Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll.

High School:  Hood played softball at Smithson Valley High School.  She earned second team all-district honors as a junior and first team honors as a senior.  She led Smithson Valley to the 4A State Championship in 2012.  She was also academic all-district her final two years.

Personal:  Hood is the daughter of Ray and Gina Hood and is studying business administration.  She has a brother, Josh.  She was born on May 24, 1994.
