Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll

2015 (Junior):  Helm was the team's main first baseman and led the team with 270 put outs.  She hit both of her home runs at the UT-Arlington tournament with both coming against the host team.  She was 2-for-3 with a double against Eastern Illinois.  She was 2-for-3 with three walks and an RBI in a doubleheader at UTSA.  She scored two runs and had a double against Prairie View A&M.  She was hit by a pitch six times for the second straight year.  She was an NFCA Scholar Athlete and was named to the Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll.

2014 (Sophomore):  Helm was a regular starter at first base for the Cardinals.  After starting the season 1-for-15 at the plate she hit .283 the rest of the season.  She was 3-for-4 with a double and two runs at UH-Victoria.  She hit a pinch-hit, two-run homer against Prairie View A&M at home and then was 2-for-3 with a homer and two RBI's on the road against PVAMU.  She was 4-for-4 with two runs, three RBI's and a homer in at Abilene Christian in the penultimate game of the season.  She led the team with seven hit by pitches.  She was named to the Southland Commissioner's Honor Roll and was an NFCA Scholar Athlete.

Previous:  Helm played a season at NCAA Division III UT-Tyler.  She was an NFCA Scholar Athlete and helped lead the team to a 47-6 record and fourth place finish in the NCAA Division III World Series.

High School:  Helm was on the softball team for three years at Canyon High School.  She earned all-county and all-district honors as a senior and helped led the team to the 2010 State finals and 2011 and 2012 regional finals.  She was a member of the National Honor Society and a three-time academic all-district selection.

Personal:  Helm is the daughter of Michael and Jennifer Vinton and is studying biology.  She has a brother, Jacob and a sister, Shelby.  She was born on March 1, 1995.  She is a tutor at the UIW Tutoring Center.
