2018 (Sophomore): Appeared in 34 games and started in 24...Had six runs, 18 hits, one double, and two home runs...Posted 16 RBIs, good for second on the team and two sacrifice hits...Came on as a pinch hitter during the fifth inning against Texas A&M on 3/3//2018 and hit a three-run home run...Came on as a pinch hitter and hit an RBI-double against Houston Baptist on 3/30....Went 1-2 with an RBI and a walk against Texas on 5/2/2018...Drove in three runs against Texas Southern on 4/3/2018...Went 2-4 with two RBIs against Lamar on 4/28/2018...Defensively, she recorded 20 putouts and six assists.

2017 (Freshman): She appeared in 10 games. She was named to the SLC Commissioner’s Honor Roll with a 3.23 GPA. 

High School: Castro competed in softball and track at Somerset High School for coach Abraham Alvarez. She was a three-time First Team All-District selection. Her softball team reached the playoffs all four years, with a District and Area championships her senior year. Her team were Bi-District champions three seasons. In the classroom, Castro graduated magna cum laude and was part of the National Honor Society, Medical Careers Club, and National Society of Leadership and Success. 

Personal: Castro is the daughter of Jorge and Christina and is majoring in biology. She has one brother, Ryan, and a sister, Lilly. She has volunteered at the Hunter's Pond Rehabilitation Healthcare Center and the Baptist Medical Center.
