Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll

2017: (Senior) She made 51 appearances with 41 starts. She had the second best batting average on the team with .310. Her .403 on-base percentage was the best on the team. She led the team with 166 putouts. She was on the 2017 Southland All-Conference Honorable Mention. 

2016: (Junior) She had 51 appearances along with 40 starts. She had a .274 batting average which was third best on the team. She had a .397 on-base percentage. She led the team with six home-runs. She had 86 putouts to go with a .989 fielding percentage. She was named to the SLC Commissioner’s Honor Roll with a 3.90 GPA. 

2015 (Sophomore):  Alonzo remained one of the team's top run producers finishing second on the team with 18 RBI's despite only 90 at bats.  She was 2-for-3 with a double, RBI and run scored against Buffalo.  She drove in two runs against Jackson State with a double.  She tallied three 2-hit, 2-RBI games in a one week span in April.  She cracked her only home run at Prairie View A&M.  She went 3-for-3 at home against Prairie View.  She tied for the team lead with 11 walks.  She was named to the Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll.

2014 (Freshman):  Alonzo had a great start to the season before tailing off a bit at the end.  She started 29 games and played in 47 games.  She led the team with 26 RBI's.  She had four multi-hit games in the first eight she played.  She cracked her first home run in a 4-3 win over Baker.  She came back the next day and drove in four runs on a pair of doubles in a win over Arts & Sciences.  She had a season high three hits, including two doubles and three RBI's in a win over UT-Permian Basin.  She had two doubles in a loss at UH-Victoria and drove in four runs in a win over Nicholls.

High School: Alonzo played four years of varsity softball, with three at Smithson Valley High School where she graduated. In 2011 and 2012 she was a second team All-District player and in 2013 she was a first team All-District player. Her team also won their State Championship in 2012. 

Personal: Alonzo is the daughter of Julio and Annette Alonzo and is studying interdisciplinary studies.  She has a brother, Brett.  She was born on September 2, 1994.  She has an uncle who played baseball at St. Edward's and another uncle who played football at Sul Ross State.  She is a member of the UIW Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
