Biography
Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll
2017 (Redshirt): Epps competed unattached during the indoor and outdoor seasons. He made an appearance in the 60 meters at the Dunamis Sports Group College Classic II. Outdoors, he recorded a season's best time in the 100 at the UIW Cardinal Quadrangle. Epps competed at the Bobby Lane Invitational and wrapped up his season at the J Fred Duckett Twilight meet.
2016 (Junior): An injury kept Epps out of competition indoors. He opened the season outdoors at the Islander Collegiate Open where he anchored the 4x100 meter relay to second place. Epps continued to ease back into competition only running the 4x100 and open 100. At the Southland Conference championship he competed in the 100 and 200 meters.
2015 (Sophomore): Epps was a key member of the UIW 4x100-meter relay team that earned third team all-Southland Conference honors. He ran the second leg on the team all season long and they set the school record of 40.02 at the Bobcat Invitational. He finished sixth in the conference in the 100 meters with a time of 10.55, his personal best. He was the runner-up in the 100 and 200 meters at the UIW Quad Meet. The 400 relay team won three meets and finished in the top three at seven meets. He moved into the top 10 in school history in the indoor 60 and 200 meters. He is now third all-time in the 100 meters and 200 meters outdoors. He was named to the Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll.
2014 (Freshman): Epps was a sprinter for the Cardinals as a true freshman. His best time in the 100 meters came at the Bobcat Classic (11.11) and he clocked a 22.78 in the 200 meters at Stephen F. Austin. He competed in the short sprints during the indoor season as well. He was named to the Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll.
High School: Epps was on the track, football and basketball teams at Bishop Dunne Catholic School. He earned first and second team All-State and first team all-district honors in track. He was a member of the school-record 4x100 and 4x200 relay teams. He helped lead the team to a third place finish at the State meet. He was a second team all-district wide receiver. He was a member of the Bishop's Honor Roll and was a Verizon Community Leader Award nominee.
Personal: Epps is the son of Phillip and Janice Epps and is studying engineering management. He has three sisters, Alexis, Shaunta and Rachael. He was born on July 1, 1995. His father was on the track and football teams at TCU and played in the NFL for eight years for the Green Bay Packers and New York Jets. His sister, Rachael, played soccer at the University of Cincinnati.
