Coach Donnell joins UIW in August of 2021 from Ball State University where he oversaw all field events for the MAC program.
The Denver, CO native completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Colorado in 2017. He then moved to Phoenix, AZ as a coaching intern with the professional track and field organization Altis.
During his time in Phoenix, Coach Donnell assisted with the horizontal jumpers along with shadowing the Olympic jump coaches. Following his time with Altis Coach Donnell moved to Norman, OK as an assistant horizontal jumps coach at OU (University of Oklahoma). After a year at OU, Coach Donnell moved to Muncie, IN to take on the field events coordinator position at Ball State University. He just completed his 2nd year season at Ball State where he coached the heptathlon MAC champion and the MAC HJ runner-up (1.75m) among other great finishes.
At UIW, Coach Donnell will oversee the multi-events and hurdles along with helping Coach Alexander with the horizontal jumps. Coach Donnell is voracious learner and a great teacher, two traits we thrive to be strong at within the coaching staff.
