Biography
Senior (2024): Sasso teamed up with his doubles partner in his final season in San Antonio to finish 12-6 overall... Sasso spent most of his time at the No. 1 position in singles play, recording 11 wins for the Cardinals... was named to the second team All-Conference and All-Academic.
Junior (2023): Went 29-15 overall... competed in double and single events.... played positions 1, 2 & 3 doubles, 1, 2 & 3 singles... often paired with Jose Garmendia in doubles.
Sophomore (2022): Posted a 13-3 overall record with an undefeated (3-0) Southland Conference record...Went undefeated at No. 2, 4 and 5...paired up with Warren Fulgenzi for a 10-7 overall doubles record with a 3-0 SLC record...Selected to the SLC first team in singles and doubles, only dropping one set all conference play.
Freshman (2021): Had a 4-7 individual mark, playing in the No. 1-5 positions…went a season-best 2-5 in the No. 2 slot…paired with Omar El Kadi and Warren Fulgenzi Jr. to post a 7-5 overall record in doubles action…was 0-1 with El Kadi at the No. 2 position…had a 7-4 record including a 4-1 conference mark with Fulgenzi Jr. to earn All-Southland Conference No. 2 doubles second-team honors.
High School: Competed for Associacao Leopoldina Juvenil club…won an ITF J4 doubles and tournament semifinalist in J3 doubles in Florianopolis, Brazil…also a tournament finalist in ITF J5 singles and doubles tournaments in Bolivia.
Personal: The son of Jose Henrique Sasso and Naiza Regina Konkewicz…has two brothers, Antonio and Pedro…twin brother, Antonio plays tennis at Nicholls State…an engineering major.
