University of the Incarnate Word Athletics

2013-14 (Sophomore):  Santos swam all the distance freestyle events for the Cardinals.  He earned points at the CCSA meet by finishing 12th in the 500-yard freestyle and nine in the 1650 freestyle.  He was a consistent swimmer for the team and was able to drop his times at the big meets.  He swam a career best in the 200 freestyle at the CCSA championships and is the ninth fastest swimmer in the event in school history.  He was named to the CCSA All-Academic Team.

2012-13 (Freshman): Santos was the RMAC Champion in the 1000 and 1650 freestyle events and earned Third Team all-conference honors in the 500 freestyle. He swam "B" qualifying times in the 200 and 500 freestyle during the season, but did not make it to the national meet. The true freshman put his name in the UIW record books swimming top 10 times in the 500, 1000 and 1650 freestyle races.

High School: Santos swam at Lamar Academy. He was the district and region Swimmer of the Year as a senior and earned All-State honors. He was a National Merit Scholar.

Personal: Santos is the son of Alejandro and Martha Santos and is studying biology with a minor in engineering physics. He has two sisters, Paola and Daniella and a brother, Daniel.
