A native of Uniontown, Pa., Kaitlyn Johnson came to Incarnate Word in the fall of 2011 to work as a graduate assistant for the Cardinals swimming and diving teams.

 

She earned her bachelor’s degree in communications in the spring of 2011 at Clarion University in Pennslyvania.

 

At Clarion 28 times she earned All-American honors in swimming.  She holds three school records in individual events—500-freestyle, 100-freestyle and 100-butterfly.  Also, she swam on five Clarion relay teams which set school marks—200 and 400-medley, 200, 400 and 800-freestyle.

 

At the NCAA Division II National Championships in 2011 hosted by Incarnate Word, she fnished tied for 9th with 47 individual points.  Seven of her All-American awards came at this meet including a second in the 100-freestyle and a third in the 100-butterfly.

 

She is studying communications at Incarnate Word and wants to work in public relations with a professional sports team.

 

Her favorite team is the football Steelers, her favorite athlete is Dara Torres and she is into working out, shopping and reding.
