University of the Incarnate Word Athletics

High School: Played club for Houston Dynamo for the U-14, U-15, U-16, and U-18 teams. He was the captain for the U-15 and U-16 teams; the latter team reached the 2015 playoffs. He has scored over 25 goals while with the Dynamo. He was selected to the Generation Adidas Soccer Program (ESP) All-Star Team in 2015 and he also played in the Generation Adidas Cup in both 2015 and '16. Joya played in international tournaments, such as Liga BBVA Bancomer International Sub-15 in Mexico in 2015, the Cayman Island International Youth Football Tournament in 2014, and the 11th International Summer in San Marino, also in 2014. 

Personal: Joya is the son of Iveth and Teodoro Joya and is studying biology at UIW. He has one brother, Gianni, and one sister, Sophie. He was born on February 14, 1999, in Houston.
