Marquis has a plethora of experience both on and off the pitch spending time as a high-level player and coach. His playing began with two years of Division I College Soccer at Oral Roberts University where he was a Mid Continent Conference Champion, a 2-time All-Conference selection and a NCAA Tournament participant. He went on to finish his college soccer career at Midwestern State University, a D2 college. Here he received All-Conference recognition and contributed to a team that made the NCAA Tournament Quarterfinals in consecutive years. Muse also spent time playing professionally. He was a member of the Major League Soccer Club, F.C. Dallas featuring in MLS Reserve League Games during the 2005-2007 seasons.

As a coach Marquis has helped over 60 players received All Conference Recognition. Along with this he has had three All-Region players and one All-American. Muse has a unique ability to recruit players to fit the team, along with a strong understanding of different positions and the ability to edit game and practice film.
