2014 (Junior): Hoyl became a starting member of a Cardinals back-line that posted four shut-outs and 6-3-1 record in the Western Athletic Conference. In a series sweep against Houston Baptist he contributed to a defense that limited their opponents to only five shots on goal over two games. He also assisted the Cardinals in holding on to a 1-0 lead against San Jose State, a win that helped to turn the season around and keep UIW in the higher tier of the WAC standings. He was an iron man for the team playing every minute of the first 17 games of the season. He was named on to the WAC All-Academic team.
2013 (Sophomore): In his first season as a Cardinal, Hoyl played a total of nine games as a defender. He made seven starts and was part of a pair of shutouts. He played a total of 716 minutes on the season.
Previous: Hoyl red-shirted his only year at East Tennessee State.
High School: Hoyl captained the 2011 Highland Park High School team. He received first team all-district and all-region honors playing as a defender. He played for the Andromeda Soccer Club, helping them to win the 2011 U19 North Texas Classic League.
Personal: Hoyl is the son of Ron and Kristi Hoyl and Tracy Moore and is studying sports management and business. He has a brother, Luke, who plays baseball at Navarro College and a sister, Sydney. He was born on January 21, 1993.
