Southland Commissioner's Honor Roll

2014 (Freshman): Cruces finished 18th in his first meet as a Cardinal in the Alamo City Opener 6k with a 20:43.32 time.  For the UIW invitational, he crossed the line at 26:34.6 for 54th place. In the SLC Championships 8K, Cruces closed his season with  a slightly faster time of 26:51.9 for 62nd place.He was named to the Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll.
 
High School:  Cruces was on the cross country and track teams at Ingram High School.  He was a five-time district champion winning two titles in the 1600 meters, two at 800 meters and one in cross country.  He qualified for regionals in track and cross country all four years and was a three-time State qualifier in cross country.  He finished in sixth place in State in cross country as a senior earning First Team All-State honors.  He was the Area champion in the 800 meters as a senior.  He led the cross country team to a pair of district titles.  He earned academic all-district honors four times and was an academic All-State choice as well.  He was a member of the National Honor Society and Boys State.

Personal:  Cruces is the son of Raymundo and Margarita Cruces and is studying business administration.  He has a younger brother, Aaron.  He was born on September 20, 1995.
