Kam Martin

Kam Martin – an Auburn alum –, joined the UIW Cardinal Football staff as the Running Backs Coach in January of 2022. 

San Antonio is the second stop in Martin's coaching career, after spending the 21' season in Orlando working as the University of Central Florida's as offense analyst. Martin helped mentor a Running Back room that produced two dynamic rushers in Isaiah Bowser and Johnny Richarson. Despite having a season plauged with injuries, Bowser was able to rush for 703 yards, 9 touchdowns and maintain a rush average of 4.4 yards per carry. Johnny Richardson set the pace for the group rushing for 798 yards and 4 touchdowns on a 6.45 rush average. Richardson also contributed as a pass catcher with 25 receptions, 226 yards and 1 Touchdown. Johnny Richardson was also named fourth-team All-AAC by Phil Steele.

A former running back that lettered in four seasons at The University of Auburn, Martin finished his collegiate career with 1,564 rushing yards, 193 receiving yards, and 9 total touchdowns. Martin's rushing yards ranked 27th most in program history. Through his career Martin earned All -SEC honors, as well as being named to the Doak Walker Award Watch List, Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Watch list, and the Reese's Senior Bowl Watch list.

 During his career, The Tigers won the SEC West in 2017, defeated The Alabama Crimson Tide twice and competed in 3 New Year's 6 bowl games. 

Received the 2019 Hard-Fighting Soldier award from the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. 

In high school, Martin anchored a 4x200-meter relay team that set a national record with a time of 1:23.84 and captured the 2015 Texas Class 6A State Title. Was a top-25 national recruit and the number one rated running back coming out of Texas.

Martin is the son of Howard and Marion Harris. His cousin is former NFL All-Pro Running Back Jamal Charles.
