CCSA All-Academic Team
2015-16 (Freshman): Carrera swam backstroke for the Cardinals his freshman year... was also very active in the UIW community, participating as a member of the math club and volunteering for art and music festivals around campus.
High School: Carrera attended Nikki Rowe, McAllen Memorial and Ronald Reagan high schools. He swam at all three and held school records in 100 backstroke, 200 medley relay and 400 freestyle relay at Nikki Rowe.
Personal: Carrera is the son of Ramon Carrera and Victoria Pineyro and has two siblings, Ricardo and Sofia. He was born in Monterrey, Mexico on November 12, 1996 and is studying biochemistry and rehabilitative sciences.
