Biography
2016-17 (Junior): Smith particpated in 9 tournaments in his junior campaign. Placing 1st in the Classic at the Tribune, thanks to his sudden death performance. He would have 6 top 20 finishes on the year. With his lowest total score being a 213, and his lowest round at 69 which was at the Classic at the Tribune. Smith led the Cardinals to a 3rd place finish at the 4th Skyhawk Classic, finishing 4th on the day.
2014-15 (Freshman): Smith ended up playing a lot of golf for the Cardinals as a red-shirt freshman. He carded a pair of sub par rounds at the Litz Memorial Invitational and St. Mary's Rattler Invitational. He fired a 4-under par 67 at the Rattler Invite. He was the runner-up at the Litz Memorial at 1-over par and he took eighth at the PGA Minority Collegiate championships. He was named to the Southland Commissioner's Honor Roll.
2013-14: Smith did not play any competitive rounds for the Cardinals, but was named to the Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll.
High School: Smith was on the cross country, basketball and golf teams at Incarnate Word Academy. He earned All-State honors in golf. He was on a State championship team in 2011 and he was a member of the National Honor Society, the Honor Roll, and Mu Alpha Theta.
Personal: Smith is the son of Lee and Sarah Smith and is studying accounting. He has a brother, Brian. His father played sports at Centenary College, while his brother competed at St. Edward's. He was born on March 9, 1995.
