Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll
2017: Ortiz kicked off the season indoors at the Aggie Team Invitational. She went on to compete outdoors at the UIW Invitational and claimed a new personal best in the 1500 with a time of 5:00.07.Â
 She placed sixth in the 3,000 meter steeple chase at the J Fred Duckett Twilight meet (12:02.76).
2016: Ortiz opened up her outdoor season at the Islander Collegiate Opener where she ran the 1500. She improved her time by 14 seconds for a new collegiate best in the event at the Texas State Bobcat Classic.Ortiz also competed on the Cross Country team for the Cardinals. She finished seventh at the UIW Cross Country Dual Meet against Texas Christian and eighth against Abilene Christian.Â
2015:Â Ortiz red-shirted her first year at UIW, but was named to the Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll.
High School: Ortiz was on the basketball, track and cross country teams at Holmes High School. She was a first team academic All-State and All-State runner. She was the Homecoming Queen.
Personal: Ortiz is the daughter of Miriam Ortiz and is studying kinesiology. She has a sister, Danise and a brother, David. She was born on December 3, 1995.
