Biography
2017 (Sophomore): Love kicked off her second season with the Cardinals at the Aggie Team Invitational. She showed significant improvements and stepped up to be one of the fastest sprinters on the Women's team. At the indoor conference championship, she proved to be a strong competitor as she set a new personal best and school record in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.50 seconds for a third place finish. She also bettered her time in the 60 meter dash with a 7.73, the fourth fastest time in school history. Love's competitive drive continued during outdoor season as the hurdle specialist recorded an 11.93 in the 100 meters for a personal best. She concluded a successful season with another podium finish in the hurdles. Love ran a 13.62 to break her own school record in the event for a first place finish amongst Southland competitors. She led off the 4x100 meter relay that finished sixth.Â
2016 (Freshman): Love ran the 60 meter hurdles and dash indoor before upgrading to the 100 dash and hurdles outdoor. She also made appearances on the 4x100 meter relay. Love placed first in the hurdles at the J Fred Duckett-Rice Twilight meet and third in the event at the Kansas Relays. At the outdoor conference championship, she not only qualified for the finals, but ran the fastest time in school history (14.02). She went on to place fifth in the event to score points for the women's team.Â
High School: Love was on the track team at Warren High School. She wa the team MVP all four seasons. She holds the school record in the 300 hurdles (42.9) and the 100 hurdles (13.7). She was a TGCA All-Star. As a senior, she was the district, area and regional champion in the 100 hurdles and finished eighth in the State. She was the regional champion in the 100 and 300 hurdles as a sophomore and junior. She finished fourth in the State in the 100 hurdles as a junior and fifth as a sophomore. She also had a personal best of 37-7 in the triple jump in her career.Â
Personal: Love is the daughter of Jacob and Laura Love and is studying kinesiology. She has five siblings; Jacob, Tiara, Amani, Laura and ReNiva. Jacob played football for UIW. She volunteers with the San Antonio Food Bank and women's shelter. She was born in Okinawa, Japan.
