Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll

2017 (Junior): Moreno crossed the line in 4:26.46 to claim a new personal record in the mile at the Aggie Team Invitational. He bettered his time in the 3000 to 8:58.99. A few weeks later he shaved off eight seconds to post a new best (8:50.48) in the event at the indoor conference championships. He crushed a five year old school record in the steeplechase with a time of 9:20.39 to place seventh at the J Fred Duckett Twilight meet. A week later he ran  4:00.47 in the 1500 to add his name to the Cardinal record book. He wrapped up the season with an eight place finish in the 3000s at the outdoor conference championships. 

2016 (Sophomore): Moreno placed second  in the 3000 with a personal best time (8:59.22) at the J.D. Martin Invitational. He showed significant improvements in the 3000 steeplechase as he ran a new personal best time of 9:45.68 at the J Fred Duckett-Rice Twilight meet. 

2015 (Freshman):  Moreno recorded top 10 times in school history during the indoor season in the mile and 3000 meters.  He ran the mile in 4:32.35 at his first career meet hosted by University of Houston.  Two weeks later at UH he clocked a 9:04.27 in the 3000.  During the outdoor season he concentrated on teh 1500 meters.  He also ran the 3000 steeplechase once and it was good enough to be in the top 10 in school history with a time of 10:26.18.  He was named to the Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll.

High School:  Moreno was on the track and cross country teams at Del Rio High School.  He was a four-time State qualifier in cross country and earned Third Team honors.  He was an individual cross country district champion and helped lead the team to four top-10 performances at the State meet.  He was the Region champion at 1600 meters and qualified for the State meet.  He was the district champion at 3200 meters.  He was a member of the National Honor Society and boasted a 4.381 GPA.

Personal:  Moreno is the son of Cesar and Maria Moreno and is studying rehabilitative sciences.  He has two sisters, Dariela and Mariela.  He was born on December 14, 1995.
