2018 (Sophomore): Competed in five events for the Cardinals … in posted two career bests on the season, one at the Ken Garland Invitational in the 3.1 mile (19:16.7) and the other at the Bear Twilight in the 4k (15:31.7).
2017 (Freshman): Ran in six events for the Cardinals including the NCAA South Central Region Cross Country clocking in at 22:33.5 … she ran a career best in the Southland Conference Championships in the 6K of 22:28.6 … placed 9th at home in the UIW Invitational, her best finish on the season … added two other personal best times in the Chile Pepper Festival (5K, 18:38.5) and the Aggie Opener (4.1K, 16:00.7).
High School: Alvarado competed in both cross country and track for Stevens High School. In cross country, she set new marks in the 3 Mile (18:16.00) and 5K (18:42.15). In track, she ran a 2:25.97 in the 800m, 5:15.46 in the 1600m, and 11:20.30 in the 3200m. She was a four-year regional qualifier in both sports. She was both a two-time state qualifier and two-time district champion. In 2016, she was named to the 6A Girls All-State Cross Country Team, Girls All-State Academic Cross Country Team, 6A TGCA Super Team Cross Country, 6A TGCA Legacy Team Cross Country, and 6A San Antonio Express-News Athlete of the Week for March 7, 2017. As a senior in track, she was named 6A TGCA Legacy Team, 6A TGCA Track and Field Legacy All-Star, 6A San Antonio Express-News Athlete of the Week for Feb. 28, 2017, and was awarded the 2017 Distinguished Athlete Award. In the classroom, Alvarado was a member of the Air Force Junior ROTC, National Honor Society, NEHS, and the Prom Committee. She was a Falcon Honor Student, who had perfect attendance, and graduated in the Top 5% of her class. She was an Honor Roll student who took all AP credit classes.
Personal: Alvarado is the daughter of Laura and Johnny Alvarado. She is majoring in business administration with a minor in management information systems, with a goal of becoming an officer in the Air Force. She has two sisters, Emily and Madily. She was born on February 3, in San Angelo, Texas.
