Biography

2014 (Junior):  DeWitt earned Capital One Academic All-America® and Academic All-District VII first team honors.  He was named to the Southland Conference All-Academic Team and the SLC Commissioner's Honor Roll.  He was the top sprinter on the team and broke 10.60 seconds in the 100 meters three times, including a 10.47 at the UIW Invitational.  At the same meet, he ran his best 200-meter time of the year clocking a 21.17 to take second place.  He made the finals of the SLC 100-meter dash and finished in seventh with a time of 10.50.  He ran the anchor leg of the 4x100-meter relay team that finished fifth in the SLC and he was also on the 4x400-meter relay team that was eighth in the conference.  He is the second fastest man in school history in the indoor 60 and 200 meters and the outdoor 100, 200 and 400 meters.

2013 (Sophomore):  DeWitt had an outstanding season culminating with the NCAA Division II Men's Outdoor Track & Field Elite 89 Award.  He posted the second best sprinting season in school history behind only teammate Tommy Brown.  During the indoor campaign he posted the second best 200 time in 21.92 and the third best 55 time in 6.55 and was a Lone Star Conference All-Academic Team member.  He really shined during the outdoor season earning All-LSC, USTFCCCA All-Region (200 meters), USTFCCCA All-Region (4x100 relay), USTFCCCA All-Academic Team, LSC All-Academic Team and Capital One Academic All-District VI First Team honors.  He was the LSC Track Athlete of the Week on April 24 after winning the 400 and anchoring the winning 4x400 relay team at the J. Fred Duckett Twilight hosted by Rice.  He ran the 200 meters and 4x100 relay at the NCAA Division II Championships.  He finished third in the LSC in the 200 and had a top time of 21.08 for the season, #2 in school history.  He provisionally qualified for national in the 100 meters with a time of 10.60, #2 in school history.  He also clocked the second fastest 400 time in school history with a 48.36 at the Texas State Invitational.  He was named to the LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll.

2012 (Freshman):  DeWitt was named to the Lone Star Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll.  He was named to the USTFCCCA Division II All-Academic Team.  He placed in three events at the LSC Indoor Invitational.  He was on the indoor 4x400-meter relay team that finished third at the meet in a time of 3:20.81.  He was a member of the school record setting 4x100-meter relay team that finished third in the conference and eighth in NCAA Division II to earn All-America honors.  The 4x100 relay team had a top time of 40.61.  He was also on the 4x400-meter relay team that was sixth in the conference and had a season best time of 3:16.09 en route to winning the Trinity Alumni Classic.

High School:  DeWitt was on the track and football teams at Churchill High School.  He was a first team all-district wide receiver.  He was on a school record setting 4x200-meter relay team and owns the school record in the 200 meters.  He earned Second Team Academic All-State honors.

Personal:  DeWitt is the son of Barry and Margaret DeWitt and is studying sports management.  He has three siblings; Ashley, Tiffany and Zachery.  He was born on June 24, 1993.
