Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll
2017 (Junior): Simmons finished fourth in both the 100 and 200 meter dashes at the UIW Cardinal Quadrangle meet. She anchored the team to second place with a seasons best time of 45.89 at the Texas State Bobcat Classic. Simmons recorded a collegiate best time (11.89) in the 100 meters at the UIW InvitationalÂ
2016 (Sophomore): Simmons opened the indoor season at the J.D. Martin Invitational where she competed in the 60 and 200 meter dashes. She ran collegiate best times of 7.82 in the 60 meters and 25.07 in the 200. She contributed to a fourth place finish and new indoor school record in the 4x400 relay at the indoor conference championship. Outdoors, Simmons was a significant member of the women's 4x100 meter relay. She helped the team to a second place finish at the Kansas Relays and seventh place at the conference championship.Â
2015 (Freshman): Simmons had a solid first season for the Cardinals and moved into the UIW top 10 in a number of different events. She ran her best indoor times of the year the Southland Championships. During the outdoor season, she won the UIW Quad Meet 100 and 200 meter races. She had a season best of 12.09 in the 100 meters and 24.23 in the 200 meters. She was part of the 4x100-meter relay team that finished eighth in the conference, but posted the second fastest time in school history. She was named to the Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll.
High School: Simmons was on the track team at Pflugerville High School. She was the most valuable performer on the team for three straight seasons.
Personal: Simmons is the daughter of Shawn Simmons and is studying psychology. She has three siblings; Quinton, Tayvone and Geeanie. She was born on August 30, 1994.
