Previous School:
William Jewell College: As a freshman, Granato received freshman of the year and NCAA II Academic All-American.
High School: Granato attended Colegio Don Bosco and graduated in the top 10%. He set state records in the 200, 400, 800, and 1,500 freestyle events and was South Brazilian Champion in the 100, 200, and 400, freestyles.
Personal: Granato is the son of Joao Emilio and Maria Christina Granato and has one brother, Joao Victor. He was born in Curitiba, Parana, Brazil. Granato is studying international business.
