University of the Incarnate Word Athletics

2014-15 (Sophomore):  Makieieva was one of the top swimmers for the Cardinals.  She competed in the freestyle, breaststroke, butterfly and individual medley events.  She posted her best 200-yard breaststroke time at the UIW Christmas Invitational with a time of 2:16.26, which placed her in third place with the third fastest time in school history.  She won the 200 breaststroke in a time of 2:20.87 at Florida Gulf Coast.  She finished in first place in the 500-yard freestyle against Southwestern with a time of 5:15.66 and also earned CCSA All-Academic Team honors.

2013-14 (Freshman):  Makieieva was not allowed to compete until the CCSA championships.  She finished 10th in the conference in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:21.13 which was the third fastest time in the program's history.

Previous:  Makieieva attended Tecnopil National Economic University and was on the swimming team.  She earned a top three finish in the Ukrainian championships.

High School:  Makieieva qualified for the finals of the Ukrainian national championships.  She was a top three finisher in relay events at the national championships.

Personal:  Makieieva is the daughter of Andzey Makieiev and Irina Makieieva and is studying international business.  She has a brother, Arkadiy.  She was born on August 19, 1993.
