CCSA Diver of the Week
CCSA Third Team (platform)
2014-15 (Freshman): Schaffer quickly marked himself as one of the top divers in the program's history. He won seven total events throughout the season and was a two-time CCSA Diver of the Week. He went over 280 points on three occasions in the 1-meter event and finished in third place in the conference. He was even better at 3-meters with two meets of over 300 points. He finished as the CCSA runner-up in the event and was a four-time champion during the year. He only competed in the platform dive at two meets, but he won the UIW Christmas Invitational and was third at the CCSA Championships.
High School: Schaffer was on the diving team at the South Mecklenburg High School and also participated in track and cross country. In diving, he was named on to the All-Charlotte First Team and the All-State Second Team. He was the team captain and was also named on to the Honor Roll in his junior year.
Personal: Schaffer is the son of William and Shannan Schaffer and he has two brothers, William and Andrew. He is studying business and was born on April 19, 1996. His grandfather, Joe Quigg played basketball at University of North Carolina winning a national championship in 1957 and he was drafted by the New York Knicks in 1958.
