Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll

2018 (Senior): Tied for staff high of 24 games played…led the pitchers with 21 starts…went 8-13 in the circle with a 5.22 ERA…led the pitchers in innings pitched (122.0) and strikeouts (68)…tied for lead with 11 complete games.

2017: She made 28 appearances with 16 starts. She had a record of 4-15. She went the distance and had eight complete games. She pitched a total of 104.1 innings and was second on the team with 48 strikeouts. She was named to the SLC Commissioner’s Honor Roll with a 3.45 GPA. 

2016: She had 29 appearances with 13 starts. Her record was 6-10 with an ERA of 4.27. She led the team with 56 strikeouts. She also had 18 assists. She was named to the SLC Commissioner’s Honor Roll with a 3.25 GPA. 

2015 (Freshman):  Leal was a spot starter for the Cardinals in her first year.  She had a solid performance against Eastern Illinois allowing three hits and one unearned run in 4.1 innings.  Her best performance of the season came against Prairie View A&M when she picked up a win after allowing three hits and one run in 5.0 innings.  She was named to the Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll.

High School: Leal played softball at Jack C. Hays High School for coach Aaron Fuller. In 2013 and 2014, Leal was the team MVP and earned first team All-State honors. Her junior year she was selected to the “Top 10 High School Athletes” list.  She led her team to an Area championship in 2012 and they were State Champions in 2013. The team made it to the State semifinals in her senior year.

Personal: Leal is the daughter of Johnny and Deila Leal and is studying psychology. She has three siblings, Jon-Eric, John Paul and Christina. She was born on August 5, 1996.  She volunteered at the Texas State Autism Summer Camp in 2015 and at the Lehman High School Autism Summer School.
