Biography
2015-16 (Sophomore): Rodriguez swam butterfly, breaststroke, and IM for the Cardinals this season. She was on the medley relays at duel meets and made it back to finals multiple times in the UIW Christmas Invite.
2014-15 (Freshman): Rodriguez swam in the freestyle, breaststroke, butterfly and individual medley events in her first year as a Cardinal. She placed second in the 100-yard freestyle against Trinity with a time of 55.30. She finished in third place in the 100 butterfly at North Texas and Houston with times of 59.66 and 1:00.88, respectively. Her best time in that event came at the UIW Christmas Invitational with a time of 58.35, which made it into the school's top 10. She also made it into the top 10 in the 100 breaststroke and the 200 butterfly with times of 1:07.60 and 2:09.96, respectively. She was named to the CCSA All-Academic Team as a freshman.
High School: Rodriguez was on the swim team at Winston Churchill High School. She made District and Regional finals in multiple events, including the 100-yard butterfly for three consecutive years. In her senior year, she was the captain of the swim team. The 400 freestyle relay team won a state title in 2013 and finished third in 2014. She was also named to the TISCA Academic All-State team.
Personal: Rodriguez is the daughter of Mark and Deborah Rodriguez. She is studying biology and was born on February 15, 1996. She was awarded the UIW Dean’s Scholarship award. She is a volunteer summer naturalist at the San Antonio Zoo and earned the 2014 President’s Volunteer Service Award.
