University of the Incarnate Word Athletics

2015-16 (Junior): Pena swam the distance freestyle events and the 400 IM for the Cardinals. She made it back to finals at the UIW Christmas Invite in the 400 IM and dropped time from her morning swim to end the season with a time of 4:44.31.

2014-15 (Sophomore): Pena swam in the freestyle, backstroke, butterfly and individual medley events for the Cardinals.  She finished second in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 11:21.30 and also finished third in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:33.35 against Southwestern.  Her best 400 individual medley time came in the CCSA Championships, 4:45.24.  Her time of 2:12.32 in the 200 freestyle at the UIW Christmas Invitational cracked the school's top 10 and she was a member of the CCSA All-Academic Team.

Previous:  Pena swam one season at Butler University in Indiana.  As a freshman, she swam the fastest 1,000-yard freestyle (11:04.23), second fastest 200-yard butterfly (2:12.51) and second fastest 200 IM (2:13.47) on the team.

High School:  Pena was on the swim team at Flower Mound Marcus High School and earned four varsity letters.  Her top times include: 200 Fly - 2:11.98, 100 Fly - 1:00.01, 200 Free - 1:56.76, 400 IM - 4:49.21, 200 IM - 2:16.13.  She placed ninth overall during her senior season at regionals in the 200 Free.  She was named team captain during her senior season.  She was a member of the Lakeside Aquatics Club.  She was voted as Social Officer of Spanish Honor Society as a senior.

Personal:  Pena is the daughter of Deigo and Pia Pena and is studying rehabilitation science.  She has two siblings, Johjanes and Tirza.  She was born on April 20, 1995.  Her brother played water polo at Texas Tech.
