Southland Commissioner's Honor Roll

2014 (Sophomore): Rivera was one of the top runners for the Cardinal. She closed in 7th place at the Alamo City Opener 4K with a time of 15:37.31 that allowed the Cardinals to win the meet. She also had two other top 15 finishes, one in the OSU Cowboy Jamboree 5K in 12th and in the UIW Invitational 6K in 14th. Rivera had a 22:13.8 time in the SLC Championships 6k for 27th place that closed the Cardinal season in sixth place. She was named to the Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll.

2013 (Freshman): Rivera competed in six meets for the Cardinals in her freshman year and posted a season best time of 23:24.98 for a 6K run at the UIW Cardinal Invitational and took eighth place. She finished in 12th at the TLU Invitational after running a time of 19:59.46 over 3.25 miles.  She broke 24 minutes each time she ran a 6K and finished in the top 40 at the Southland Conference Championships.  She was named to the SLC Commissioner's Honor Roll.

High School: Rivera was on the Brownsville Rivera High School track and cross country teams. She was a two-time district champion in cross country and was named the All-Metro Most Valuable Player twice. She earned first team All-Metro and all-district and All-Rio Grande Valley and was second team all-region. In track she was a two-time 3200-meter district champion and was a four-time regional qualifier. She led the cross country team to three District 32-5A championships and one track district team title. She was a member of the National Honor Society and was All-State Women's Choir.

Personal: Rivera is the daughter of Ramiro and Lupita Rivera and is studying music education with a minor in all level education. She has a sister, Samantha. Rivera was born on June 14, 1995.  She is a member of the UIW choir and National Society of Leadership.
