University of the Incarnate Word Athletics

2014-15 (Sophomore):  Bernier showed solid improvement from her freshman to her sophomore year in nearly every event.  She swam top 10 times in school history in the 100 and 200 butterfly events at the UIW Christmas Invitational.  She improved over three seconds in the 200 butterfly and six seconds in the 200 individual medley.

2013-14 (Freshman):  Bernier was a butterfly specialist who also swam some sprint freestyle and individual medley events as a true freshman.  She showed solid improvement throughout the season and moved into the top 10 in school history in the 100 and 200-yard butterfly events.  She is one of eight people in the program's history to break 59 seconds in the 100 fly.  She was named to the CCSA All-Academic Team.

High School: Bernier was on the swim team at Cedar Hill High School where she was an All-League and All-State swimmer. She holds four school records and was also the President of the National Honor Society.

Personal: Claudia is the daughter of of Brenda and Roberto Bernier and has two sisters, Stephanie and Barbara. Stephanie is also a swimmer and was on the swim team at the University of North Texas. Claudia is studying meteorology and was born on September 7, 1995.
