2014-15 (Junior):  Escarcega continued to be a valuable contributor to the Cardinals with his ability to swim a wide variety of events.  He earned All-CCSA honors in the 200 freestyle relay and 400 medley relay and he was a member of the CCSA All-Academic Team.  His best individual event was the 100 backstroke finished fifth at the conference meet after winning the UIW Christmas Invite earlier in the season.  He had a number of strong finishes in the 200 fly with a win against Southwestern and a third place at the UIW Christmas Invite.  The 200 medley relay team won three races including the Christmas Invite.

2013-14 (Sophomore):  Escarcega was busy for the Cardinals swimming both butterfly events along with the 100-yard backstroke and 50-yard freestyle.  He had a solid CCSA meet taking fourth in the 100 back (49.69), third in the 100 fly (49.28) and fifth in the 200 fly (1:50.76).  He broke 21 seconds in the 50 free for the first time at the Texas Invitational and he is in the top 10 in school history in both the 100 back and 100 fly.  He was named to the CCSA All-Academic Team.

2012-13 (Freshman): Escarcega earned a pair of all-conference citations taking home RMAC Second Team honors in the 200 medley relay and Third Team honors in the 400 medley relay. The butterfly specialist won the 100 fly at the UIW January Meet with a time of 52.01 and was third at the Drury Invitational. In the 200 fly, he was second at the UIW January meet with a time of 1:55.88. He swam the third leg on both the 200 and 400 medley relay teams at the RMAC Championships. His top times in both butterfly events were good enough to make the UIW top 10 list.

High School: Escarcega swam at Cathedral High School. He helped the team to their 24th State Championships and a berth in the national meet.

Personal: Escarcega is the son of Carlos and Lourdes Escarcega and is pursuing an MBA. He has three siblings; Carlos, Emmanuel and Anasazi.  He was born on September 11, 1992.  He volunteers with San Antonio Youth Literacy.
