Biography

2012 (Junior):  Rea proved to be a great addition to the Cardinals starting 19 games as a defender.  His three assists led all defensive players on the team.  He worked through some nagging injuries during the season, but still played a key role on defense as the team recorded nine shutouts in his 19 contests.  He assisted on the team's only goal in a 1-0 victory over Northeastern State. He assisted on the game-winning goals in a 2-0 win over Eastern New Mexico and 4-0 win over #13 West Texas A&M.

Previous:  Rea played three seasons at Winthrop University.  He was a starter on the 2009 and 2010 squads.  He only appeared in three games in 2011.  He scored his first collegiate goal on Sept. 3, 2010 vs. Brevard College and picked up his first collegiate point in a 2-2 tie against Radford on Oct.17, 2009.

High School:  Rea played soccer at Olympic High School in Charlotte, NC with current UIW teammate James Nero.  He earned All-State honors and was the Conference Player of the Year as a senior.

Personal:  Rea is the son of Mike and Julie Rea and is sports management.  He has three siblings; Jake, Mary and Grace.  He was born on June 15, 1990.
