Biography

Sanchez was named the Lone Star Conference Preseason Pitcher of the Year.
 
2012 (Junior):  Sanchez was the Lone Star Conference Preseason Pitcher of the Year.  She struggled a little during the regular season, but picked up two wins and saved a third to help lead the Cardinals to the LSC Tournament Title.  She was named to the All-Tournament Team.  She finished the year with a 17-11 record and a 3.43 ERA while striking out 196.  She had 27 complete games, three shutouts and two saves during the year.  She tossed a 1-hit shutout against Eastern New Mexico on Mar. 16.  She had a season high 13 strikeouts in her first game of the year against UT-Permian Basin.  In the LSC Tournament she had complete game victories against Texas Woman’s and Midwestern State.  In the championships game against Angelo State, she pitched the final 3.0 innings and struck out six to earn the save.
 
2011 (Sophomore):  Sanchez was named First Team All-Lone Star Conference South Division after posting a 21-11 record, 1.89 ERA and 267 strikeouts in 218.1 innings.  She was named to the Daktronics All-South Central Region Second Team.  She tied the school record with nine shutouts while completing 27 games.  She tossed a 5-inning no-hitter against Our Lady of the Lake on Feb. 12 and struck out 11.  Five days later she set a school record by throwing a 13-inning complete game against Emporia State.  She lost, 4-3, but struck out 16 batters and threw 342 pitches in the affair.  She pitched a pair of shutouts against LSC champion West Texas A&M on Mar. 11-12.  In the first game, she threw a 5-inning no hitter allowing two walks while striking out seven.  She came back the next day to win 1-0 in nine innings.  She allowed four hits and three walks while striking out 14.  She tossed nearly identical shutouts against Southwestern Oklahoma on Apr. 2 and at Tarleton State on Apr. 9.  She had 12 strikeouts in each contest.  She struck out at least 10 batters in 12 different games and won 12 of her first 13 decisions of the season.
 
2010 (Freshman):  Sanchez earned First Team All-Heartland Conference and Second Team Daktronics All-South Central Region honors after going 22-9 with a 2.37 ERA.  She was also named the Heartland Conference Pitcher of the Year and Freshman of the Year.  She set the school record with 283 strikeouts on the season and an average of 10.14 strikeouts per seven innings.  She tossed five shutouts and had 24 complete games while adding a save for good measure.

High School:  Sanchez played softball at Marshall High School.  She set the school record for strikeouts and was a two-time all-district selection.  She earned first team honors as a senior and was the team MVP.

Personal:  Sanchez is the daugher of Jaime and Lena Sanchez and is studying biology.  She has a sister, Brooke who plays softball at Trinity, and a brother, Jared.  She was born on December 10, 1990.
