University of the Incarnate Word Athletics

2012-13 (Junior):  Freeman put together a great year in the pool and in the classroom.  She earned CSCAA All-America honors in the 1650 freestyle and 200 freestyle relay.  She was named CSCAA Honorable Mention All-America in the 500 freestyle, 1000 freestyle and 800 freestyle relay.  She was voted the RMAC Academic Athlete of the Year and was named RMAC All-Academic First Team, CSCAA Scholar All-American and Capital One Academic All-District VI First Team.  She swam nearly every freestyle event over the course of the season and posted "B" qualifying times in all but the 100 freestyle.  She was second in the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle at the UIW January Invite.  She took second in the 1000 freestyle at the Texas A&M Invitational and in the 1650 freestyle at the UC-San Diego Invitational.  She is among the top four in school history in the 200, 500, 1000 and 1650 freestyle races.

2011-12 (Sophomore):  Freeman was a CSCAA Scholar All-American and Second Team RMAC All-Academic Team selection.  She was an Honorable Mention All-American in the 1,650-yard freestyle.  She swam incredibly well at the RMAC Championships setting a meet record in the 500-yard freestyle (4:58.35) en route to the victory.  She earned second team all-conference honors in the 1,650 freestyle, 400-yard freestyle relay and 800-yard freestyle relay.  She won the 200 freestyle at the Henderson State Invitational and the 1,000 freestyle in the Ouachita Baptist Invitational.

2010-11 (Freshman):  Freeman had an outstanding campaign earned a pair of All-America citations in the 500-yard freestyle and 800-yard freestyle relay.  She nabbed Honorable Mention All-America honors in the 1,000-yard freestyle, 1,650-yard freestyle and 400-yard freestyle relay.  She was seventh nationally in the 500 freestyle.  She earned Third Team All-RMAC honors in the 1,000-yard freestyle.  She swam third on the RMAC winning 800 freestyle relay team and the runner-up 200-yard freestyle relay team.  She won the 500 freestyle at a pair of meets during the year.

High School:  Freeman was a member of the water polo and swimming teams at Clear Brook High School.  She earned All-State honors in water polo as a sophomore.  She was four-time all-region swimmer and set the school record in the 400-yard freestyle.  She was a member of the National Honor Society and an Academic All-American.

Personal:  Freeman is the daughter of Ron and Raynel Freeman and is studying history with a minor in business administration.  She has a brother, Jake.  She was born on June 14, 1992 in Hinsdale, Illinois.
